Filming "Endless"

I am soooo excited to be the Make-Up artist for a short film production!!! It's for the 2010 100-Hour Short Film Grand Prix, a competition where filmmakers have 100 hours to complete a short film, from concept to final, finished product.

My team received the theme on Thursday night, and have until 11:59pm on Monday night to have the film uploaded, for public voting, where winners receive prizes. The theme for this year is "Forever" and the prop is "Photograph".

It's a small team with David Beleznay as Director, we have 1 Producer (Sam who also doubles as an actor), 1 Cameraman (Phillip), 1 Sound Engineer (Agah, again he doubles as an actor), 2 actors (Tim and Tomoko), myself as Make-up Artist, and my husband Dave as photographer and Lighting Tech.

They spent Thursday night and Friday coming up with story and script. Saturday we were filming, and today, Sunday, they are editing it in the next room, as I type this blog. The director, David, and the Sound Engineer, Agah, came over to edit as Dave has Adobe Premier Pro on our computer, which is the program they are using.

Filming on Saturday was fun! We drove up to Squamish first thing in the morning, to Shannon Falls, where we spent about 4 hours scouting locations and filming. It was freezing!!! Then we drove back into town where we filmed more scenes in a parking lot, skytrain, etc. We were done filming at about 1:00 am. This is good practice for me as I want to be a Make-up Artist in the Film Industry, where 20 hour days are not uncommon.

Here are some pictures:

These were taken at Shannon Falls, where I had to put real dirt on Tim's face, as his character has been on the run for a while now as he stumbles across the woods.

For Tomoko's scenes in the parking lot, I did a subtle smoky eye with light blue shimmery highlights with false lashes, and a dark red lip.

These last 2 pictures were taken at about 1:00 am. I look pretty bushed LOL!

(Edit: Pubic voting is only open to residents of New York, so we can't vote. But I hope we win!!)
