About Bev
Hi Everyone! My name is Bev and I am a freelance makeup artist. I specialize in weddings (traditional and ethnic), airbrushing, and make-up for TV, Film and Stage. I am currently getting my training for Special Effects Makeup and Prosthetics.
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to do something creative and artistic with my life. I have always loved the arts. In my spare time I liked to draw and play the piano. I always loved makeup but I never thought of it as a lifelong career. I grew up in Manila, Philippines and I went to a strict, religious private school where we were not allowed to wear makeup or style our hair or even wear nail polish! So I would play with makeup at home, doing little makeovers, thinking it was only a hobby, something to do for fun.
I went to University and got my Degree in Fine Arts. So I spent 4 years doing a lot of drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, fashion design, etc. My major was in Advertising and Marketing, and I learned so much in those 4 years, and I had a lot of fun as well.
My brother and sister-in-law owns a catering company, so I got involved in Special Event Planning. I planned and organized events and parties such as weddings, baptism, anniversaries, graduation, baby showers, retirement, etc. And being Filipino, of course, the traditional 18th birthday coming of age formal gala for young ladies. This was when I started working closely with MakeUp Artists and Hair Stylists. I was happy yet felt like I had to shift my focus, but I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was the universe was trying to tell me.
Fast forward years later, moving to Vancouver, and getting married. Something was still tugging at my consciousness. I would find myself daydreaming about opening up a spa or being on set or behind the scenes on a movie filming location or photoshoot.
As I discovered yoga, I learned about intention setting and synchronicity and always being in the present moment. That if you listened to your inner presence, the universe will guide you in the right direction. So I took that final leap and decided to pursue my dreams of being a makeup artist. I have always loved drawing, painting and sculpting. Now I just have a different medium and a different canvas.
I am passionate about my work. I thrive in this atmosphere because I love it. I love it with my whole being. I bring my whole life experience into what I do. My years of experience with Art, Design, Event Planning, Marketing and Advertising, and Yoga have all come together to make me the well-rounded, skilled, reliable and professional makeup Artist that I am.
I also love Hair Design and Esthetics. I may get my training in Hair Cutting and Coloring, as well as Spa training, in the future. I want to combine my passion for yoga and wellness with makeup, beauty and spa. I have set an intention, now I am excited to see it manifest. But for now, in keeping true with my mantra to be completely in the present, I am concentrating on getting my training in Special Effects MakeUp and Prosthetics.
I love makeup of all aspects. My mission is to ensure every client that walks through my door gets the same consistent, quality service that I take pride in. I want each and every one of you to leave feeling happy and empowered, and looking fabolous! Beautiful from the inside out. Because we are all beautiful inside. Now it’s my job to let your inner beauty shine forth.
I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you. I am excited to see the different looks I can create for you, whether it be for an evening out on the town, dancing the night away in your favorite Jimmy Choos, or walking down the aisle in your glamorous Vera Wang, as all heads turn towards the most beautiful bride they have ever seen.
Contact me today and we can start on that.

"Beyond the beauty of external forms, there is more here: something that cannot be named, something ineffable, some deep, inner, holy essence. Whenever and wherever there is beauty, this inner essence shines through somehow. It only reveals itself to you when you are Present."
